On February 11, colorful rulers for height measuring appeared in the Mother and child center (TSMIR). Mama.md volunteers wanted to help brighten up the long tiresome queues in hospitals.
Anyone, who has ever sat in a queue to see a doctor, knows what an unbearably oppressive atmosphere rules in the hospital corridor. This is particularly evident, when a mother is waiting for her turn with her child. It is not always possible to explain to a child that he has to wait patiently for a long time. People sitting and standing around often irritate the child, making him nervous and acting up.
That is why, in order to entertain the children, mama.md decided to make a gift to all those, who often sit in the queues. On Thursday, at 15.00 we hung on the walls special height meters made of environmentally friendly wood, on which different animals are painted in bright colors (rabbit, lion, elephant, giraffe). The height on the rulers is compared with the height of the animals. Children may be photographed at the height meter, and later they may compare their height since the last visit.
Today, In the Mother and child center, we hung 30 height meters. In the future, we plan to gift these rulers to all hospitals and clinics in Chisinau, and then to the med. institutions throughout the country.
We thank the Ministry of Health and the company “Acrilat” for their support and participation in the action.
