Rubicon 2025 was not just about running—it was about adventure, unexpected challenges, and unforgettable moments for both organizers and participants.

Crossing the Galați – Giurgiulești border was a tense moment. The Rubicon organizers were informed about an emergency situation that could have disrupted the race. Coordinators were already considering changing the crossing point and requested a green corridor from the authorities to the next border checkpoint.

Thanks to the joint efforts of the organizers and law enforcement, participants were able to cross the border at the planned checkpoint, and the race continued without major disruptions.

A situation somewhere between stress and comedy – a few participants fell behind, and the organizers went back to find them, but they were nowhere to be seen! After an extensive search, it turned out that they had been picked up in a private car and were already waiting at the next stage!

In Romania, most of the route was on flat terrain, but in Moldova, each stage included an elevation gain of 200-300 meters, truly testing endurance. It snowed, rained, and was cold – but that’s Rubicon. Some organizers and runners were left without dry shoes, but no one stopped.

On the bus, people slept wherever they could, even in luggage compartments. A professional runner from the Netherlands came to the race with his coach. He stated that this was the most spectacular race he had ever participated in. Some runners from Romania, taking part in Rubicon, visited the Republic of Moldova for the first time!
