February 14 – Valentine’s Day, but when nearly 100 runners are going for a jog in the name of love from the Sporter, then this day overflows with love to run and is traditionally called Sporter Love Run.
On Sunday, when the whole city is still asleep, amateur and even professional runners prepare their running equipment to run 14 kilometers across Chisinau this day. People, wishing to participate in the race, began to gather at 8:45 in the square of the Opera and Ballet Theatre, among which we can see loving couples, husband and wife, and the most active runners of Moldova.
Every runner uses a GPS-navigator built in the sports application, to monitor the process of their training. This allows seeing the real heart, which the race participants drew in honor of this holiday, because the route was planned in advance so that athletes ran in the shape of a heart, when conquering the specified distance. Accompanied by the views of passers-by, happy runners easily passed the whole route. Of course, there were places with difficult climbs, but each and every one managed coping with those, and cars were honking almost all the way, thereby supporting the athletes.
We would like to note that the race was also attended by several cyclists from the club MTB.md, who accompanied the runners throughout the race as pacemakers, and even in times of crossing to the other side of the road, suspended the movement of cars. We remind you that last year we were holding runs in honor of March 8 (race route in form of number 8), Easter (race route in form of an Easter egg) and 9th of May (race route in the shape of number 9).
