999.md is Moldova’s largest online classifieds platform, where millions of users buy, sell, and discover products, services, and opportunities every month.
We are now looking for a Senior Product Manager to take ownership of the Products vertical and help transform a traditional classifieds platform into a full-fledged transactional marketplace.
This role is for someone who is interested not only in improving an existing product, but also in building new user journeys — from discovering a product to payment, delivery, and completing the transaction.
Develop the strategy for the transactional model within the Products vertical.
Research buyer and seller needs, identify the key barriers between product discovery and purchase, and formulate product hypotheses.
Develop the full user journey: search → order → payment → delivery → receipt → return/cancellation.
Identify new product opportunities, services, and monetization models.
Develop payment flows and work with acquiring banks, payment providers, and technology partners.
Develop solutions for delivery, fulfillment, orders, and returns.
Build the roadmap, define priorities, and manage product development from idea and business case through launch and scaling.
Work with product and business metrics such as GMV, conversion, retention, repeat purchases, take rate, net revenue, contribution margin, and others.
Run experiments, analyze results, and make data-driven decisions.
Work closely with development, design, analytics, marketing, finance, legal, and commercial teams.
Build and manage relationships with external technology and commercial partners.
5+ years of Product Management experience and experience independently owning a product area or major product initiatives.
Hands-on experience in e-commerce, marketplaces, or other transactional digital products.
Experience launching or developing services related to online payments, delivery, orders, or integrations.
Understanding of online payments, acquiring, returns, seller settlements, and transactional product economics.
Experience working with external partners and on complex cross-functional projects.
Strong Product Discovery and product analytics skills: user research, hypotheses, experimentation, funnels, and A/B testing.
Ability to connect product decisions to business outcomes and evaluate their economic viability.
Ability to independently define strategy, set priorities, and drive initiatives through to results.
Entrepreneurial mindset, strong initiative, and comfort working with uncertainty.
Romanian — mandatory; Russian — a plus.
Experience in a C2C/B2C marketplace.
Experience with payments, acquiring, logistics, or fulfillment.
Understanding of transactional funnels, payment conversion, and order lifecycle.
Experience working with GMV, take rate, net revenue, contribution margin, and unit economics.
Experience launching integration projects with technology or commercial partners.
First, you’ll dive deep into the current Products model, users, key scenarios, and product economics, identify the main growth opportunities, and build a roadmap.
Then, together with the teams and partners, you’ll develop and launch the first transactional scenarios, including “Safe Deal”, test payment and delivery flows, and evaluate the real performance of the model.
By the end of the first 6 months, we expect to have the first pilot results, a clear understanding of the unit economics, and a concrete vision for the next steps toward scaling.
