Martisors blossomed out!

1 March 2019

It is no secret that the most beloved national holiday in Moldova is March 1! Why? Because it’s “Martisor”! On this day, we give each other “martisors” – red and white amulets, which we wear until April 1. Despite its simplicity, the martisor has a deep sacred meaning – it is a symbol of rebirth, purity, hope and love at the same time.

There are a great many traditions of presenting martisors to each other, since this holiday is celebrated not only in Moldova. In order not to offend any of our ancestors (this tradition is more than 8,000 years old), Simpals decided to combine all these, so now we’ve got: traditional costumes and music, martisors exchange between colleagues, and warm greetings to one another.
