In 2014, Olga Iurco started as an Office Manager at Simpals. Her ambition and desire to grow led her to become an Event Manager for the Sporter project two years later. “Sporter was a brand-new department at the time, developing rapidly, and I wanted to grow up with it.”

For 4 years, Olga participated in organizing major events, eventually leading one of the project’s teams. Then, when the pandemic started, she decided to take a break. “At that time, we were trying to organize more and more online events, and I felt burned out. So I asked for a leave without knowing if I would return.”

Olga found her new motivation in Product Management. She saw great potential in this innovative approach, so she started studying. “For a year, I took various Product Management courses. At that time, my husband, who was working at 999, would tell me about how this process was being implemented there. I found it very interesting, so I decided to restart my career and became a Junior Product Manager at 999.”

The new job brought many challenges. “I returned to the office and noticed that my colleagues had advanced, but I was just a junior. Additionally, as an introvert, it was hard for me to call clients and take interviews. However, I focused on soft skills like effective communication, flexibility, and task management, and I succeeded in overcoming my challenges.”

Today, Olga Iurco has been the Team Lead Product Manager at 999 for 3 years. She acknowledges that, thanks to the development of her soft skills, she successfully manages her team. In the future, she dreams of launching her own product, and until then, she is certain that she won’t get bored with Product Management, as there is no routine in this field.

“It’s a diverse job. Even though we have established frameworks, there are millions of ways we can use them. Furthermore, you have to collaborate with specialists from different fields: marketing, IT, support. As a Team Lead, I feel like I’m putting together a puzzle, managing my team’s work to further develop the 999 platform.”
