Liudmila Priimac’s Journey at Simpals: Beyond Data and Decisions…

When Liudmila Priimac first walked into the Simpals office in 2017, she didn’t have a clear plan. It was her first experience working in a large company, and the idea of an office job made her imagine a rigid world full of rules and formalities. But the reality turned out to be completely different.

“The interview felt more like a friendly chat. It was like visiting a friend, not a big company.” Within just 30 minutes, she already knew this was the right place for her. That’s how it started — as an Office Manager, juggling administrative and logistical tasks while learning how a dynamic company truly works.

Two years later, she moved to the procurement department, where she handled logistics for events and managed the office relocation. Everything seemed to follow a predictable path — until the pandemic came along and changed the rules of the game.

Discovering a New Direction

When the office shut down and teams shifted to remote work, Liudmila began to see things from a new perspective. Digitalization had become a priority, and she felt it was time to take a step in that direction.

“I remembered how much I loved computer science and coding back in high school, so I chose to study Product Analytics on my own.” It wasn’t easy — she had to find resources, test things out, and learn through trial and error.

The turning point came when Aksinia Chumachenko joined as Product Manager and Team Lead at 999. Inspired by her experience and vision, Liudmila asked to join the team. Under Aksinia’s guidance, she began learning and growing in the field.

“I would stay up at night, testing and experimenting, trying to absorb as much as I could.” It was intense, but each day confirmed that she had chosen the right path.

Why Product Analytics?

What fascinates her the most is the blend of logic and creativity. “I love experimenting, testing hypotheses with A/B testing, and discovering what works best.” Product Analytics is not a static field — each day brings a new hypothesis, a new test, a new strategy for every task.

On Challenges and Balance

The challenges were there. One of the biggest was rebuilding the tracking system for 999. It had been set up two years ago, but over time it deteriorated and no longer functioned properly. “We had to rebuild it from scratch. It was a complicated process, but a necessary one.”

On a personal level, finding balance was the harder challenge. While Simpals values work-life balance, for her, it’s been a constant struggle. High standards and a thirst for learning demanded effort, and sometimes the line between work and personal time became blurry.

A Contribution That Made a Difference

Out of all the projects she’s been part of, what fulfills her the most is contributing to meaningful change. “I was one of the people who laid the foundation for A/B testing at Simpals.” Now the team can conduct quantitative research, not just qualitative.

Lessons Learned Along the Way

At Simpals, Liudmila learned to think product-oriented, to adapt to uncertainty, and to manage her time wisely. “At first, I wanted to do everything, but I eventually understood how important it is to say ‘no’ at the right time. Aksinia helped me a lot in developing that skill.”

Advice for Those Just Starting Out

If she could offer just one piece of advice to someone entering this field, it would be: “The eyes are afraid, but the hands do the work.” Technical skills can be learned — it’s the motivation and drive that truly make the difference.

Liudmila Priimac started out as an Office Manager, but curiosity and a desire to grow led her to Product Analytics. And she’s certain — her journey is far from over.
