Being a lawyer is about challenges, rewards and continuous growth. Cristina Mutruc tells us what inspired her, how she tackled obstacles and how she sees the future of law as a profession.
How did you choose a career in law?
This profession probably chose me quite naturally, without realizing it, because I have always opted for fairness and discipline. Since childhood, it was my passion for working with paperwork and the pursuit of justice that led me to choose this field, where I can contribute to the respect of the legal framework and the protection of legitimate rights.
What was the biggest challenge at the beginning?
Adapting to the daily realities, which, at the beginning, differ from the theoretical knowledge I had learned. It is not by chance that practice beats theory. However, with a good mentor and professional colleagues, I managed to tackle these obstacles more easily.
What motivated you to join Simpals?
I joined Simpals because I wanted to change my job and develop professionally, an opportunity accessible to everyone here. At Simpals I discovered not only a dynamic working environment but also beautiful people.
Can you name your most outstanding Simpals project?
It’s hard to pick just one project, as they are all different in their specifics and come with both challenges and lessons. I’ve learned that flexibility and perseverance are key and that they keep us moving forward, no matter the situation.
How do you deal with situations where your client’s interests contradict your principles?
I try to handle such situations with the utmost professionalism, even if it is sometimes difficult. Ethics and fairness are fundamental in this profession.
How do you see the future of the legal profession?
The legal profession evolves with technological progress and changes in society, requiring continuous adaptation. For this reason, I believe that digitization of legal processes is no longer just an option, but a necessity, and the acquisition of technological skills is becoming essential to remain competitive in the field.
What advice do you have for novice lawyers?
Study with passion and be open to change. Perseverance, persistence, courage and fairness are the keys to success in this profession. It is also important to maintain a balance between professional development and personal life for a sustainable career and well-being.
